Each row is one ending (.com, .io, …). The colored word tells you if that name can be bought: Available means yes, Probably free means yes but double-check at the seller, Taken or Reserved means no. The price is the 3-year cost (buy it once, renew it twice), the fairest way to compare sellers, because many advertise a cheap first year and charge more every year after. The same domain can cost three times more at one seller than another, and the cheap first year often hides an expensive renewal. DomainChoice checks availability from the official registries and compares real prices across 40+ registrars, from GoDaddy to Porkbun, then ranks them by what a domain truly costs over three years. We link you straight to the seller's checkout; we don't sell anything ourselves.

Why do the same domains cost different amounts at different sellers?
Every registrar sets its own markup on top of the registry's wholesale fee, and many discount the first year to win you over, then charge a higher renewal. That's why we rank by 3-year cost instead of the sticker price.
Is it safe to buy from the cheapest registrar?
Yes. A domain is a standardized product: whoever you buy from, you own the same name and can transfer it later. Prefer well-known sellers if you want familiar support, they're tagged "popular" in the comparison.
Where do the prices come from?
Live registrar price feeds and public price lists, refreshed daily. Standard rates in USD; premium names and promo codes can differ, so the seller's checkout always has the final say.
Why is the renewal price higher than the first year?
Registrars discount the first year to win you as a customer, then charge their standard rate every year after. That's why we rank by the 3-year total: one registration plus two renewals, the honest cost of owning a name.
What does "Reserved" mean?
Some names, like test or example, are blocked by the registries themselves and can never be bought, even though they look unregistered. We check the official registry records and tell you before you waste time.
Can I check a domain ending that doesn't exist yet?
Yes. Hundreds of new endings like .agi and .lfg have been proposed for the ICANN 2026 round. If you search one, we'll tell you it's coming and you can vote for it on our New TLDs page to join the waitlist.
